This section is split into two sections. Blue boxes and foldable boxes.
Blue Boxes

Lids for blue boxes must be ordered separately.
The blue boxes must not contain more than 10 kg. Contact packaging engineer for exceptions.
The lowest box in a stack must not be loaded with more than:

Plastic box as inner unit
Parts in plastic boxes must be delivered on E or H-pallets. This is indicated on the Packing List or packing instruction by a figure ”10” (E-pallet), a ”20” or “D1-D5” (H-pallet) under the heading ”Pallet unit”. The number of plastic boxes that should be included in the pallet unit is specified under the heading “Inner unit”.
Plastic box as pallet unit
Plastic boxes can also be used as pallet units to achieve greater flexibility when calling-off. The number of articles in each box is specified on the Packing List. The number of plastic boxes required is specified in the Delivery Plan. Plastic boxes that are modified as pallet units must always be delivered on a pallet.

Please send only one (1) part number on one (1) full H-pallet with the quantity of boxes ordered by batch quantity and unit quantity when code A or D is used.
The pallet with the boxes goes directly into our warehouse, so please follow the specification of levels on the pallet, otherwise a manual repacking have to be done.
Rules for blue boxes
- When there is an uneven number of boxes, use additional boxes with another part number, or use empty boxes without label to fill up the pallet to given quantity above.
- It is not allowed to mix part numbers to different delivery addresses on the same pallet.
- You must mix blue boxes on a pallet (to reduce quantity of empty boxes).
- Plastic boxes must always be strapped on to the pallet with two straps.
- Plastic boxes must always be positioned on the pallet so that the pallets can be stacked during transport.
- Plastic lid are not allowed for box B1/B2/B3 into Chassis and Cab workshops.
- A plastic lid for box B1/B2/B3 must always be used into the component workshop – Engine.
- To other component workshops, such as Gearbox and Axles shall a plastic lid only be used on the box B1/B2/B3 if stated in the packaging instruction.
- A plywood cover must always be put uppermost on the unit with the lists turned upwards. This is valid for the B3 box.
- A plastic cover must always be placed on the top of the transport unit with plastic boxes B1 or B2 and also on the transport unit with mixed B1, B2 and B3 boxes.
- Labels on boxes should always be pointed outside the unit as much as possible, that the label can be read.
- Only one label per box. The goods label should be positioned in the designed holder. See photos above. Self-adhesive labels are not allowed to use on blue boxes. Staples are not allowed to use on blue boxes.
- Labelling – Scania’s profile/specification of the VDA transport label for EDI can be found on Scania Supplier Portal under Supplying to Scania/EDI/EDI Europe/Transport Labels.
Consignee of blue boxes
- Blue boxes can be sent to all European production units
- Blue boxes can be sent to Scania Latin America (=Antwerp, consolidation point for flow to South America) only from authorized suppliers.

The weight limit of the box with parts is 10 kg. Unless otherwise stated by the responsible technician.

Foldable box as inner unit

The number of plastic boxes that should be included in the pallet unit is specified under the heading “Inner unit”.

Rules for Foldable boxes
- It is not allowed to mix part numbers to different delivery addresses on the same pallet.
- It is allowed to mix different part numbers on a pallet if it contains only B4 boxes.
- Plastic boxes must always be strapped on to the pallet with two straps.
- Plastic boxes must always be positioned on the pallet so that the pallets can be stacked during transport.
- A plastic H-lid MH-4319 must always be put uppermost on the unit with the lists turned upwards when H-pallet MH1874 is used.
- A wooden E-lid MH-2318 must always be put uppermost on the unit with the lists turned upwards when E-pallet MH1875 is used.
- Each box shall be marked with a VDA label which shall be placed in the label holder.
- Only one label per box. The goods label should be positioned in the designed holder. Self-adhesive labels are not allowed to use on B4 boxes. Staples are not allowed to use on B4 boxes.
