Information for Suppliers using WebEDI

Key Changes and Implications for Suppliers using WebEDI

Scania is embarking on a digitalization journey driven by modernization and standardization to meet the demands of the future and better serve the customers of today. As part of this transformation, Scania is transitioning to Industry Standards and implementing a series of changes in its IT landscape, including:

  • Updates to the EDI landscape
  • New Global Transport Labels (GTL) with unique Handling Unit (HU) Number
  • Introduction of scheduling agreement and a new 7-digit supplier ID

For suppliers using WebEDI on the SEEBURGER portal, most of these changes will happen automatically in the portal.

All suppliers using WebEDI are required to upload the Handling Unit (HU) number to the SEEBURGER WebEDI portal according to Scania STD-4172-10.

  • If you already use HU numbers for other customers, upload it to the SEEBURGER WebEDI portal.
  • If you are not using HU numbers for other customers, acquire the HU number sequence and upload it to the SEEBURGER WebEDI portal. You, as a supplier, decide where to acquire the HU number.

WebEDI Supplier Onboarding Journey

Scania provides an onboarding journey for suppliers to successfully adjust to the changes in EDI and label setup. Suppliers are supported throughout this journey by the Scania Supplier Readiness Team and are expected to comply with the communicated onboarding timelines.
