TECHNICAL DOCUMENTATION AND GUIDELINES
Scania is implementing a new ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system and global standardised way of working as the foundation for administrative and transactional processes within Industrial Operations.
With Scania’s Transformation towards new Industry Standards, the EDI landscape will be updated with new EDIFACT specifications and transport label upgrades. In order to be compliant with Scania’s updated Industry Standards EDI landscape you, as a supplier, need to perform development and testing activities.
You will be invited to our digital CMA tool, via the SEEBURGER Cloud, Scania’s EDI Service Provider. The invitation will be sent from no_reply@cloud.seeburger.de.
The subject of the email will be: You supplier name – Invitation to start development work of EDI messages and labels for Scania´s transition to Industry Standards.
The CMA-campaign is the tool in which you will test your development-work on EDI messages and labels, as well as the place where you submit your development for validation with the EDI-team. We encourage you to start development of EDI messages and labels as soon as possible when receiving the email invitation.
OVERVIEW OF KEY CHANGES
- Updates to EDI landscape
New and improved EDI messages (incl. Delivery schedule, Advanced Shipping Notice (ASN), and Invoice). The new EDI message version specifications is communicated in the technical specifications and logistics manual. This will require IT changes on your end.
- Updates to transport labels
Implementing Global Transport Label (GTL); including new format with unique identifier number for outer and inner packaging level. This number needs to be applied to the ASN and the labels of all goods that are sent to Scania.
- Introduction of scheduling agreement
A new supplier number and part numbers are introduced. The agreement consists of a list of prices and parts and is intended as an extension to the current contract. The current contract still remains the valid legal document
We also urge you to carefully read and understand the updated logistics manuals (STD4172-1 and STD4172-10), which can be accessed via this link to Scania STD-documents. Your understanding of these materials is critical for a smooth integration process. On the righthand-side of this page, you can find various resources to guide you in the development process.
