Use of Conflict Minerals (3TG)

To support Scania’s commitment to responsible sourcing and sustainability, suppliers providing materials containing tin, tungsten, tantalum, and/or gold (3TG) are expected to comply with the following requirements:

  • Submit your company-wide Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT) no later than February 1st each year, covering the previous reporting period. CMRTs must be uploaded to Assent’s platform and shared with the Volkswagen Group. Invitations to the platform are sent via email from Assent.
  • Confirm that the CMRT is complete and accurate for all products supplied to the Scania Group that contain 3TG.
  • Ensure that all 3TG inputs are sourced exclusively from refiners validated as conformant with the Responsible Minerals Assurance Process (RMAP), as defined by the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI).
  • Actively participate in industry-wide programs such as the Responsible Minerals Initiative to support continuous improvement.
  • Encourage non-certified 3TG refiners to pursue OECD-conformant certification. If a refiner does not cooperate, take steps to remove them from the supply chain.
